Our Vision
Sacred Heart Guardians and Shelter is guided by a profound respect for the dignity of every human person, from the very first moments of his or her existence, and by the equally deep conviction that genuine human flourishing requires our solidarity with and commitment to protect the weakest and most vulnerable members of our society. Accordingly, we strive for a society where embryonic human beings are recognized as fully our brothers and sisters, and all human life is respected from the very first hours until natural death.
Our Mission
Sacred Heart Guardians and Shelter’s mission is to facilitate Christian burial for the embryonic human beings who die in IVF labs, and who would otherwise be disposed of as medical waste.
Our mission witnesses to the reality that human embryos are human beings, and therefore fully human persons, each of whose life “is sacred because from its beginning it involves the creative action of God and it remains forever in a special relationship with the Creator, who is its sole end.” (CCC 2258)
Our mission looks to St. Joseph of Arimathea’s act of charity and to Jesus Himself, as he instructs us on how to inherit His Kingdom by our love of Him expressed by our love for each other.
“This man [Joseph of Arimathea] went to Pilate and asked for the body of Jesus. Then he took it down and wrapped it in a linen shroud, and laid him in a rock-hewn tomb, where no one had ever yet been laid.” Luke 23:52-53
“And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brethren, you did it to me.’” Matthew 25:40
Saint Joseph of Arimathea, pray for us.
Sacred Heart of Jesus, have mercy on us.
